merry christmas to you all

It's Christmastime
There's no need to be afraid
At Christmastime, we let in light and we banish shade
And in our world of plenty we can spread a smile of joy
Throw your arms around the world at Christmastime

But say a prayer

Pray for the other ones
At Christmastime it's hard, but when you're having fun
There's a world outside your window
And it's a world of dread and fear
Where the only water flowing is the bitter sting of tears
And the Christmas bells that ring there are the clanging
chimes of doom
Well tonight thank God it's them instead of you

And there won't be snow in Africa this Christmastime
The greatest gift they'll get this year is life
(Oooh) Where nothing ever grows
No rain nor rivers flow
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

(Here's to you) raise a glass for everyone
(Here's to them) underneath that burning sun
Do they know it's Christmastime at all?

Feed the world
Feed the world

Feed the world

Let them know it's Christmastime again

Feed the world
Let them know it's Christmastime again

hey i just realised that am growin-up.

well i am alive and kickng , though just a little busy . well my cousins marriage , you see . so i am quite bussy because every day for the last one week i have been getting out of the house at 9 am and coming back at 10 pm. well actually it is the first guy who is being married in our generation. and so there is a whole lotta fuzz around and everybody is really pumped up about the marriage . ofcourse it is the first marriage that i am actually a part as the other ones were when i was very small and even the cousins getting married were too older to me so i had never mingled with them so much . this is the first marriage in 9 years and now the marriage is tommrow that is 9 dec.
well having said all that i have been very excited about the marriage . today everyone is buzy in preparing for the marriage and i am here blogging , seems starange for a guy who didnt blog for about a fortnight . well actually it feels strange today . you know i suddenly feel grown-up. in the past one year i have developed this idology that the difference between growing up and being a child is the way we see life. as a child we always feel that there is an infinite amount of time and every thing will be as it seems. whereas as gronup we know that changes are bound to come . and today when i realised that my brother with whom we all had a fun time is going to be married i do certainly feel a bit akward . like i now feel that ok hey things have to change , people have to move on . we cant stay kid for ever , we have to move ahead with life. we will now have a new member in our house, our bhabhi(sister in law) . she will be a part of our everyday life . she will be just like all cousins and aunts and everyone else who will be a part of our family . i never thought about all these and just today i realise that all that is happening is actually gonna change everybodys life . till date all i thought was that marriag€ is c€rtainly a v€ry big occassion in on€s lif€ but could n€v€r associat€ its importanc€ in on€s lif€ . today i f€€l much mor€ about th€ importanc€ of th€ occasion . w€ll i always f€lt that i f€€l th€ way oth€rs think about anything . so i am just thinkng about th€ fact that €v€n oth€rs hav€ gon€ through it and that is why i and €v€ryon€ has par€nts and famili€s so i hav€ to think lik€ grown-ups . .

chnage of season

well change of seasons is something that is considered to be a slow and continual process , but sometimes it happens to just surprise us. just 5 days back is suddenly woke up to find that as soon as i opened the door of my room cold air just rushed into my room , but it couldnt have been winter it is just the first week of november and diwali had just passed . but then in this fast changing world nothing remains as it is. ok i shud not be gettng into that . well right now in the city of joy it is getting quite chilly . yeah everyone after the festive season is just chilled out. well as in most of the tropic countries the winters are very much awaited . but for me i dunno it is ok special but i dunno y it is so and what happens to me during these months. like i dunno but i seem to be living in my own world and there is a kindof emotional upsurge while anything i do , it is one time of the year when i just feel like listening to all those ballads of the yesteryears , and all those faces come before my eye upon home i had felt that i had a crush on. and i dunno but i seem to be lost . i dont feel like sleeping in the night and dont wanna wake up in the morning . and then there are times when all of a sudden i dont feel like talking to anyone even when everyone wants my company . and then again there r time time i wish i could talk to someone , i dunno about what, when i si alone. winters always puzzle my brain up . i wanna ask someone y??

some more from pujas

the pick from the telegraph on the puja pandals

Simply grand: Fave five

The puja on Rammohan Roy Road dazzles the pandal-hopper. In shining gold, suggestive of paddy, the Devi has a hand raised in benediction, as if to shower blessings of a rich harvest. The pandal, showcasing craft on a bamboo pole from Contai, has a sky for a ceiling twinkling with artificial stars.

Artist Sanatan Dinda’s labour of love is the 73-year-old Nalin Sarkar Street Sarbojanin idol. The Devi is clad in red, which is heightened by the blood-red backdrop. She stands tall, dwarfing all the other gods in miniature. Her victory has been achieved as Mahishasura sits quietly at her feet, looking up submissively. The chandelier is done up with items associated with the pujas like barkosh, kosha-kushi and conch shells.

The Trikon Park idol, on Pratapaditya Road, seems to be wrought in bronze. The elaborate work on her chalchitra adds to the illusion. This Mohanbansi Rudrapal creation, though, is of vintage clay. Only the weapons are in brass, which the para residents remove before immersion.

Lake Town Adhibasibrinda. The Devi commands reverence in the simplicity of her grandeur. The lion resembles the dragon-like beast that is replicated at many of the old family pujas. The chalchitra, elaborate by baroari standards, is worthy of notice in the ekchala idol.

The historic Simla Byayam Samity puja, patronised by freedom fighters, enters its 80th year. The Mother looks beautiful in her simplicity. The fair surrounding the puja in the park adds to its appeal.
