valleys and mountains

Valleys and Mountains
By: Serena Renae

Standing on the mountain side,
Wondering whether I'll climb or fall.
Knowing down's a long hard ride,
And up's too far to crawl.

Searching for a holding place,
Somewhere to catch my breath.
Seeing not even the smallest space,
To hide from emotional death.

Valleys and Mountains lie before me,
I'm standing on shaky ground,
Valleys and Mountains lie before me,
Am I valley or mountain bound?

As I gaze up the sun shines clear,
No clouds to block my sight.
By the rays, your love shines near,
Guiding me with your light.

In you, I've found my anchor rope,
To ease through the ups and downs.
Loving you restored all hope,
Of a life on solid ground.

Valleys and mountains lie before me,
But I'm standing oh so strong,
Valleys and mountains lie before me,
But the shaky grounds now gone.

The summits now within my reach,
And soft seems the valley floor.
All crags and canyons I now breach,
Till my fear can rule no more.

Valleys and mountains we conquer together,
And my fear can rule no more....

a teacher

Jean Thompson stood in front of her fifth-grade class on the very first day of school in the fall and told the children a lie. Like most teachers, she looked at her pupils and said that she loved them all the same, that she would treat them all alike. And that was impossible because there in front of her, slumped in his seat on the third row, was a little boy named Teddy Stoddard.

Mrs. Thompson had watched Teddy the year before and noticed he didn't play well with the other children, that his clothes were unkept and that he constantly needed a bath. And Teddy was unpleasant.

It got to the point during the first few months that she would actually take delight in marking his papers with a broad red pen, making bold X's and then marking the F at the top of the paper biggest of all. Because Teddy was a sullen little boy, no one else seemed to enjoy him, either.

At the school where Mrs. Thompson taught, she was required to review each child's records and put Teddy's off until last. When she opened his file, she was in for a surprise. His first-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is a bright, inquisitive child with a ready laugh." "He does his work neatly and has good manners...he is a joy to be around."

His second-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is an excellent student well-liked by his classmates, but he is troubled because his mother has a terminal illness and life at home must be a struggle."

His third-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy continues to work hard but his mother's death has been hard on him. He tries to do his best but his father doesn't show much interest and his home life will soon affect him if some steps aren't taken."

Teddy's fourth-grade teacher wrote, "Teddy is withdrawn and doesn't show much interest in school. He doesn't have many friends and sometimes sleeps in class. He is tardy and could become a problem."

By now Mrs. Thompson realized the problem, but Christmas was coming fast. It was all she could do, with the school play and all, until the day before the holidays began and she was suddenly forced to focus on Teddy Stoddard.

Her children brought her presents, all in beautiful ribbon and bright paper, except for Teddy's, which was clumsily wrapped in the heavy, brown paper of a scissored grocery bag. Mrs. Thompson took pains to open it in the middle of the other presents.

Some of the children started to laugh when she found a rhinestone bracelet with some of the stones missing, and a bottle that was one-quarter full of cologne. She stifled the children's laughter when she exclaimed how pretty the bracelet was, putting it on, and dabbing some of the perfume behind the other wrist. Teddy Stoddard stayed behind just long enough to say, "Mrs. Thompson, today you smelled just like my mom used to."

After the children left she cried for at least an hour. On that very day, she quit teaching reading, writing, and speaking. Instead, she began to teach children. Jean Thompson paid particular attention to one they all called "Teddy."

As she worked with him, his mind seemed to come alive. The more she encouraged him, the faster he responded. On days where there would be an important test, Mrs. Thompson would remember that cologne. By the end of the year he had become one of the smartest children in the class and...well, he had also become the "pet" of the teacher who had once vowed to love all of her children exactly the same.

A year later she found a note under her door, from Teddy, telling her that of all the teachers he'd had in elementary school, she was his favorite. Six years went by before she got another note from Teddy.

He then wrote that he had finished high school, third in his class, and she was still his favorite teacher of all time.

Four years after that, she got another letter, saying that while things had been tough at times, he'd stayed in school, had stuck with it, and would graduate from college with the highest of honors. He assured Mrs. Thompson she was still his favorite teacher.

Then four more years passed and yet another letter came. This time he explained that after he got his bachelor's degree, he decided to go a little further. The letter explained that she was still his favorite teacher, but that now his name was a little longer. The letter was signed, Theodore F. Stoddard, M.D.

The story doesn't end there. You see, there was yet another letter that Spring. Teddy said he'd met this girl and was to be married. He explained that his father had died a couple of years ago and he was wondering...well, if Mrs. Thompson might agree to sit in the pew usually reserved for the mother of the groom. And guess what, she wore that bracelet, the one with several rhinestones missing. And I bet on that special day, Jean Thompson smelled just like...well, just like the way Teddy remembered his mother smelling on their last Christmas together.

THE MORAL: You never can tell what type of impact you may make on another's life by your actions or lack of action. Consider this fact in your venture thru life.

i shall

I am capable. I am worthwhile.
I am beautiful. I am lovable.
I shall accept both my strengths
and my weaknesses for they are me.

I shall never again believe the "lie"
that if I make a mistake,
I am a mistake.
My mistakes are the learning tools
that I shall encounter on my life journey.

When I learn from my mistakes,
I give them meaning
When I give my mistakes meaning,
I can begin to forgive myself,
I can begin to heal.

I shall not use my mistakes as excuses
to give up on me.....
My mistakes are not me.

I shall seek the wisdom to nurture
my heart, mind, body, and soul
so that I may feel more centered
providing an energy reserve that allows
me to climb the mountains in my own life
providing an energy reserve that allows
me to love and support others
who are climbing a different mountain
providing an energy reserve that allows
time for friends, play
and the celebration of life.

I shall allow myself to feel capable
so that I may seek excellence.

I shall allow myself to feel sadness
so that joy may return.

I shall allow myself to feel joy
so that I may be revitalized.

I shall allow myself to feel afraid
so that I may find courage.

I shall allow myself to feel alone
so that I may know me.

I shall allow myself to feel beautiful
so that I may feel free.

I shall allow myself to feel lovable
so that the loving may seek me.

I shall allow myself to feel pain
so that I may heal.

I shall allow myself to feel worthy
so that I may fulfill my purpose.

When I am centered,
I see the perfection in the world,
myself and others.

When I find the world to be imperfect,
I will take responsibility
for painting it that way.

I will look into the heart of a rose,
or the eyes of a newborn baby
and again know perfection.

I take responsibility
for creating my own life story
through the choices I have made;
to blame others is to give away
my personal power.

Who will I allow to write
the next chapter of my life?

I shall seek the courage to believe
in a God or Higher Power
who will laugh with me in the sunlight
or cry with me in the darkness.

I shall make a small difference on this planet
through the work I do.
When I leave I will have done my share.

I shall live, love, laugh,
and learn on my journey.

nothing is what it seems

Two traveling angels stopped to spend the night in the home of a wealthy family.

The family was rude and refused to let the angels stay in the mansion's guest room.

Instead the angels were given a small space in the cold basement.

As they made their bed on the hard floor, the older angel saw a hole in the wall and repaired it.

When the younger angel asked why, the older angel replied, "Things aren't always what they seem."

The next night the pair came to rest at the house of a very poor, but very hospitable farmer and his wife.

After sharing what little food they had the couple let the angels sleep in their bed where they could have a good night's rest.

When the sun came up the next morning the angels found the farmer and his wife in tears.

Their only cow, whose milk had been their sole income, lay dead in the field.

The younger angel was infuriated and asked the older angel how could you have let this happen?

The first man had everything, yet you helped him, she accused.

The second family had little but was willing to share everything, and you let the cow die.

"Things aren't always what they seem," the older angel replied.

"When we stayed in the basement of the mansion, I noticed there was gold stored in that hole in the wall.

Since the owner was so obsessed with greed and unwilling to share his good fortune, I sealed the wall so he wouldn't find it."

"Then last night as we slept in the farmers bed, the angel of death came for his wife.. I gave him the cow instead.

"Things aren't always what they seem."

Sometimes that is exactly what happens when things don't turn out the way they should. If you have faith, you just need to trust that every out come is always to your advantage. You just might not know it until some time later...

right of the child - united nation's pledge

We accept responsibility for children
who put chocolate fingers everywhere,
who like to be tickled,
who stomp in puddles and ruin their new pants,
who sneak popsickles before supper,
who erase holes in math workbooks,
who can never find their shoes.

And we accept responsibility for those
who stare at photographers from behind barbed wire,
who can't bound down the street in a new pair of sneakers,
who never "counted potatoes,"
who are born in places we wouldn't be caught dead,
who never go to the circus,
who live in an X-rated world.

We accept responsibility for children
who bring us sticky kisses and fistfuls of dandelions,
who sleep with the dog and bury goldfish,
who hug us in a hurry and forget their lunch money,
who cover themselves with Band-aids and sing off-key,
who squeeze toothpaste all over the sink,
who slurp their soup.

And we accept responsibility for those
who never get dessert,
who have no safe blanket to drag behind them,
who watch their parents watch them die,
who can't find any bread to steal,
who don't have any rooms to clean up,
whose pictures aren't on anybody's dresser,
whose monsters are real.

We accept responsibility for children
who spend all their allowance before Tuesday,
who throw tantrums in the grocery store and pick at their food,
who like ghost stories,
who shove dirty clothes under the bed and never rinse out the tub,
who get visits from the tooth fairy,
who don't like to be kissed in front of the car pool,
who squirm in church or temple and scream in the phone,
whose tears we sometimes laugh at and whose smiles can make us cry.

And we accept responsibility for those
whose nightmares come in the daytime,
who will eat anything,
who never have seen a dentist,
who aren't spoiled by anybody,
who go to bed and cry themselves to sleep,
who live and move but have no being.

We accept responsibility for children who want to be carried and for those who must, for those we never give up on and for those who don't get a second chance.

why?

I've often thought that some day I
Would meet my Lord, and ask him, Why?

Why take the dearest one I've known,
And leave me here to grieve alone?

Help me to understand just why
A child in tender youth should die

Before he's had a chance to live,
With so much talent yet to give?

And why do evil men succeed
By trampling others in their greed,

While plans of good men often fail,
With crushing grief and sore travail?

Why must God's saints endure such pain?
How can it bring eternal gain?

I searched God's Word -- then wondered why
Christ died for sinners such as I?

Why did He choose to leave His throne,
And with His blood my sins atone?

Oh God, though I don't understand
The reason for the things You've planned,

I want to trust that You know best,
And in Your arms You'll give me rest,

Until I reach my home on high,
Where You'll reveal the reason why.

i wanna ask just why

a letter from heaven

a story

Sally jumped up as soon as she saw the surgeon come out of the operating room. She said: "How is my little boy? Is he going to be all right? When can I see him?"

The surgeon said, "I'm sorry. We did all we could, but your boy didn't make it."

Sally said, "Why do little children get cancer? Doesn't God care any more? Where were you, God, when my son needed you?"

The surgeon asked, "Would you like some time alone with your son? One of the nurses will be out in a few minutes, before he's transported to the university."

Sally asked the nurse to stay with her while she said good-bye to son. She ran her fingers lovingly through his thick red curly hair.

"Would you like a lock of his hair?" the nurse asked.

Sally nodded yes. The nurse cut a lock of the boy's hair, put it in a plastic bag and handed it to Sally. The mother said, "It was Jimmy's idea to donate his body to the university for study. He said it might help somebody else. "I said no at first, but Jimmy said, 'Mom, I won't be using it after I die. Maybe it will help some other little boy spend one more day with his Mom." She went on, "My Jimmy had a heart of gold. Always thinking of someone else. Always wanting to help others if he could."

Sally walked out of Children's mercy Hospital for the last time, after spending most of the last six months there. She put the bag with Jimmy's belongings on the seat beside her in the car. The drive home was difficult. It was even harder to enter the empty house. She carried Jimmy's belongings, and the plastic bag with the lock of his hair to her son's room. She started placing the model cars and other personal things back in his room exactly where he had always kept them. She laid down across his bed and, hugging his pillow, cried herself to sleep.

It was around midnight when Sally awoke. Laying beside her on the bed was a folded letter. The letter said:

"Dear Mom, I know you're going to miss me; but don't think that I will ever forget you, or stop loving you, just 'cause I'm not around to say I LOVE YOU. I will always love you, Mom, even more with each day. Someday we will see each other again. Until then, if you want to adopt a little boy so you won't be so lonely, that's okay with me. He can have my room and old stuff to play with. But, if you decide to get a girl instead, she probably wouldn't like the same things us boys do. You'll have to buy her dolls and stuff girls like, you know. Don't be sad thinking about me. This really is a neat place. Grandma and Grandpa met me as soon as I got here and showed me around some, but it will take a long time to see everything. The angels are so cool. I love to watch them fly. And, you know what? Jesus doesn't look like any of his pictures. Yet, when I saw Him, I knew it was Him. Jesus himself took me to see GOD! And guess what, Mom? I got to sit on God's knee and talk to Him, like I was somebody important. That's when I told Him that I wanted to write you a letter, to tell you good-bye and everything. But I already knew that wasn't allowed. Well, you know what Mom? God handed me> some paper and His own personal pen to write you this letter. I think Gabriel is the name of the angel who is going to drop this letter off to you. God said for me to give you the answer to one of the questions you asked Him 'Where was He when I needed him?' "God said He was in the same place with me, as when His son Jesus was on the cross. He was right there, as He always is with all His children.

Oh, by the way, Mom, no one else can see what I've written except you. To everyone else this is just a blank piece of paper. Isn't that cool? I have to give God His pen back now. He needs it to write some more names in the Book of Life. Tonight I get to sit at the table with Jesus for supper. I'm, sure the food will be great.

Oh, I almost forgot to tell you. I don't hurt anymore. The cancer is all gone. I'm glad because I couldn't stand that pain anymore and God couldn't stand to see me hurt so much, either. That's when He sent The Angel of Mercy to come get me. The Angel said I was a Special Delivery! How about that?

Signed with Love from: God, Jesus &Me.

ooh it touched my heart

love needs time

again not my creation

Once Upon A Time

Once upon a time, there was an island where all the feelings lived: Happiness, Sadness, Knowledge, and all of the others, including Love.

One day it was announced to the feelings that the island would sink, so they all prepared their boats and left. Love was the only one who stayed. Love wanted to stay with the island until it started sinking. When Love was almost sinking, he decided to ask for help.

Richness came by Love in a beautiful boat. Love said, "Richness, can you take me with you?"

Richness answered, "No, I can't.. There is a lot of gold and silver in my boat. There is no place here for you."

Love decided to ask Vanity who was also passing by, "Vanity, please help me!"

"I can't help you, Love. You are all wet and you may damage my boat," Vanity answered.

Sadness was close by so again Love asked for help, "Sadness, let me go with you."

"Oh ... Love, I am so sad that I prefer to go alone!"

Happiness passed by Love too, but she was so happy that she did not listen when Love called her!

Suddenly, there was a voice, "Come Love, I will take you." It was an elder. Love became so happy that he even forgot to ask the elder her name. When they arrived on dry land, the elder went on her own way. Love asked Knowledge, another elder, the name of the elder who had helped him.

"It was Time," answered Knowledge.

"Time? But why did Time help me?" asked Love.

"Because only Time is capable of understanding how great Love is," answered Knowledge.

so how was that one

power of a hug

got it from somewhere

~The Power Of A Hug~

... Everyone Could Use A Hug,
At One Time Or Another;
Whether It Be Our Mother, Father,
Sister Or Our Brother;
Or, Maybe It's A Dear Close Friend,
Who's Really Down And Out;
And They Just Need To Know,"You're There,"
To Encourage Them When They Doubt

... We Need To Reach Out To Each Other,
More Than What We Do;
And Not Take People For Granted,
Like We Have A Tendency To;
We Need To Offer A Helping Hand,
And Do It Out Of Love;
For, That's What JESUS CHRIST Would Do,
In The Name Of The FATHER Above:

... We All Need A Hug At Times,
Especially When We're Down;
To Help Make This Life Easier,
Where We Won't Tend To Frown;
Sometimes We All Need A Hand,
And We Just Need A Lift;
For, The Power That Comes From A Tender Hug,
Is Such A Precious Gift!

31.I loved you so much, for so long, I never thought that feeling could be wrong. I miss you, even now, though you're gone. But my memories of you still live on

32.To me, you are the hand I reach for when I have lost my way. To me, you are the first star of evening, the sun that warms my day. To me, you are the truth I believe in, the one I put my complete trust in. To me, you are the love I have looked for my whole life, the one that would complete me.

33.All I know for sure
Is this certainty inside me...
That we are
Meant for each other-
Now and Always.

34.In Dreams, the perfect love
has a smile, a voice, a touch
that seem meant just for you.
In Dreams, the perfect love
is tender and giving,
always knowing just what to say
to make you feel wanted,
just what to do
to make you feel loved...
In Dreams, the perfect love
is that one person
with whom you can let go
and be yourself,
the one who makes you feel
completely alive
just by being near...
I'm luckier than most people
because I don't have to dream anymore!
I found you.

35.I love to feel your hand in mine, and on your finger place a ring.
As the love that you express for me is my most precious thing.

36.LOVE IS A WORD NOT FROM THE MIND
IF YOU LOKE INTO MY EYES
MY LOVE FOR YOU YOU'LL FIND

37.Within the first few moments
I knew I was yours
Within the first few hours
I embraced your sweet kiss.
Every second after that first
I dream of you.
Every day passing that first
I hope to spend with you.
True love dreams do come true
The dream I have to live with you.
True hope of everlasting love
With the promises made after just the first hug.
With all that I have
I am willing to give.
I promise you this
My first true love shall be my last

38.I asked God for a flower, he gave me a bouquet. I asked God for a minute, he gave me a day. I asked God for true love, he gave me that too. I asked for an angel and he gave me you.

39.My love is like an ocean it goes down so deep, My love is like a rose whose beauty you want to keep, My love is like a dove with a beautiful message to send, My love is like a song that goes on and on forever, My love is like a prisoner, it's to you that I surrender

40.If out of time, I could pick one moment and keep it shining, always new, of all the days I have lived, I'd pick the day I met you.

41.If you were only a dream that ends when the sun comes up, I'd be praying the moon to stay forever.

42.I hope that one day you'll come to realize, how perfect you are when seen through my eyes.

43.If I reached up and held a star for everytime you made me smile, I'd have the entire night sky in the palm of my hand.

44.Last night I matched each star with a reason for loving you, I was doing good until I ran out of stars.

45.Forever is not a word... rather a place where two lovers go when true love takes them there.

46.You may hold my hand for a while, but you hold my heart forever.

47.I would give up everything for a moment with you, for one moment is better than a life time
of never knowing you.

48.If you think my eyes are beautiful, its because they are looking at you.

49.How can you tell the sun not to shine ,when clouds exist. How can you ask the leaves not to fall, when wind exist. How can you tell me not to fall in love when you exist.

50.I love the thoughts you write to me
I love the things you say
The words you whisper in my ear
Most every single day.

51.When you ask me why I love you, I don't know what to say.
I love every part of you in every single way.

52.If you were the moon
and I were the sun,
we'd be an eclipse
--together as one

53.Words can't explain
how I feel about you
so I'll just say, "I Love You,"
and hope you love me, too

54.You are my life, my blood
the only one for me,
without you in my life
where would I be?

55.When you are not around
it's never the same
there is no love, no joy
just heartbreaking pain.

56.My love bruns for you in a certain way
that no knows how, even until this day

57.i've always dreamed that you'd be mine
because you are sweet, funny and kind

58.i want you to know that i care
and that i'll always be there
i want you to know that it's no lie
and that i'll carry this feeling till i die.

just two weeks back i was feeling that i am leading a dead mans life. really nothing happening. just the same old books the same old chapters the same theories...... specially after the exams were over. then i recently started playing table tennis in my college and really its an addictive game i tell you. jist feel like going on playing it. one game after the other.... you never get bored
its a great break really...... infact for the last two weeks i have just been there in the common room playing hardly attending any classes . in midst of all the studies this gives you some thrill some fun . like its not only and activity that you do . but the whole thing is actually about all the fun that we have with each other.
actually what i learned was that everything has a mixed blend of power and control.when i began i used to hit the ball so hard that it never stayed on the bord and on other ocassions i was so cautious that it didn't even reach the other court. but slowly and with time you get the right blend and you begin to open up your mind.and it is then that you feel good.
really my classmates say what do i do by not attending the classes but they may not understand that what i do is actually gonna make me feel more enthuiastic about life so thats how i am supposed to b going. this is the key to success so free your mind.ofcourse dont forget the blend.

a therapy

you know what human is such a small piece of some stuff but yet he does so many things .
like really i sometimes imagine that what is a human ,a complex thing made up of stuff that can easily get mixed in the soil, and yet you see he has achieved so much.
after thinking a lot i came to the conclusion that what really is in favour of this species is the brain.
its the brain that has all the power .so you gotta be tough from the brain.
well as i realised this i have been doing some things to develop my brain.
some kinda therapy that i dont think has any scientific explanation and may seem to be wierd to many.but i believe in it. They are not something very big which might bring about any miraculous change.they are small things and even may not cause any change.but i believe in them and that is what is important.
i have been doing such stuff for a long time and i regret not having been blogging so that i cud share them with others.but now that i am i will tell you what ever i can remember.
so the recent one that i have started is some thing like this.
most of the people have to climb stairs.they generally look at their feet to see where they are landing them.
now what i have started to do is that i keep looking strsight that is parallel to the ground while climbing stairs.that is i am looking at the stairs i am going to climb and with each step a take i am looking at the higher staircase . as i do this i am not holding the siderailing .i am not takin any support from any thing . in the beginning my feet seem to be trembling a little bit becoz there was a fear i my mind that my feet may not land on the base but at the corner but now a days i am more assured about where my feet are going . you can do the same while comng down the stairs but by skiping a base as climbing down is more easy.
ok i might sound like a crack pot but i dont care about what you think ,i feel good after doing it.

so finally i have a blog

well it has been a long time i had heard about blogs
but its after a long time that i actually am blogging
i really liked the whole idea of blogging
its cool to share ur ideas with others and get their feedback on it.
i always had quite a few thoughts that i wanted to express but not to a dairy instead to people
but most of the people found them annoying
i can't take things as they are?
wat to them is usual i seem to need a reason for it
so i finally get to a place to share my thoughts where those who r interested may read and others may go to hell
and certainly i'm lookin forward to make some friends.
